DropShot at FieldHouse Jones Launches New Bar Program
DropShot Coffee & Snack Bar, the all-day cafe located inside Chicago's River North boutique Hotel FieldHouse Jones, has launched a program with craft cocktails, local draft beers, and a rotating selection of wines by the glass. The bar program, helmed by Barman Jef Tate takes travelers and Chicagoans alike on a trip around the world, incorporating international influence to create local libations. Not your typical bar setting, DropShot has four bar seats allowing for an immersive drinking experience along with additional seating in the eclectic cafe.
Catering to both the diverse array of worldly travelers the hotel houses, as well as city dwellers, DropShot’s new craft cocktail menu grasps inspiration from all over the globe. New cocktails include the Dehli Daiquiri, using a housemade cardamom-infused rum mixed with lime and simple syrup, while the Winter Sazerac fuses the cafe’s coffee culture into the cocktail by using a Toby’s Estate espresso syrup with rye, Peychaud’s, absinthe, and lemon. Vibrant and fruit-forward offerings include the bright and effervescent Hibiscus Fizz with gin, rosehips, St. Germain, Aqua Faba, and lime; and the Pineapple Crown with vodka, pineapple gum syrup, lemon, and grenadine, lending a warm and refreshing retreat from Chicago’s brutal winter.
To build out the bar program, Bedderman Lodging tapped Jef Tate, who his craft at Moneygun before taking his talents to Beatnik and Broken Shaker. At DropShot, Tate is focused on creating rotating seasonal menus starting with the inaugural cocktail menu, which he describes as “tropical vibes in winter realities” to give his guests an escape from Chicago’s bitter winter months.
