The Privacy Please Package was created to inspire couples to unwind and rejuvenate together. Designed to make it easy to disconnect and decompress, this package offers luxuriously appointed Junior Suite accommodations. Here one will find a bottle of chilled Taittinger Champagne awaits them to savor at their leisure, perhaps after the one-hour in-room massage for two, which is also included in this relaxing getaway. Melt away the stresses of the day-to-day wearing the package keepsake plush microfiber robes. There are also luxurious Etro toiletries, a candle, and slippers that may turn bath time into a Zen experience; staff will even draw one’s bath upon request.
Paramours may recline on goose-down pillows with custom Italian bed linens including personally monogrammed pillowcases to be enjoyed on site, which can be packed and brought home as a memento, along with the Privacy Please sign. Whether opting to secure phones and laptops in the in-room safe for a total digital detox, or enjoying an array of complimentary in-room entertainment choices, at day’s end hot chocolate is part of the nightly turn-down ritual intended to help welcome sleepy-time. A special Valentine’s Day amenity also awaits to enhance this day of romance.
Guests will wake up each morning of this two-night stay package to enjoy a full American breakfast for two. Couples can dine in the privacy of their suite or in the elegant sun-lit Lafayette Room, with windows looking out over Lafayette Square and the White House.
Additionally, those who reserve the package for a one-bedroom Lafayette Park View Suite will receive caviar for two with their Champagne, as well as a three-course dinner for two one evening, personally curated from the Lafayette menu by Executive Chef Nicolas Legret. The Privacy Please Package, is available through February 28, 2019, with rates from $995 per night for a Junior Suite for two adults, or $2,000 per night for a one-bedroom Lafayette Park View Suite (excluding taxes) based upon a two-night minimum stay.
For lovers staying at The Hay-Adams for Valentine’s Day, another decadent dining option awaits. Available exclusively on Thursday, February 14, The Lafayette will offer a four-course, prix fixe menu priced at $220 per couple (tax and gratuity not included), or $240 with a glass of Taittinger Champagne, available from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests will enjoy contemporary American cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Nicholas Legret and Chef de Cuisine Jacopo Beni in addition to attentive service in a stately, elegant setting.
Menu highlights include Cauliflower Pancetta with assorted vegetable and pickled red grape vinaigrette; Pan Seared Atlantic Cod with baby kale, shellfish broth and basil finger lime oil; Roasted Mediterranean Branzino with fennel, baby turnip, leek and yellow pepper Romesco sauce; Shenandoah Seared Lamb Loin with broccolini mint purée, potato fondant and lamb jus, as well as Rock Creek Grilled Tenderloin Filet with orange braised heirloom baby carrots, Hasselback potato and Pinot Noir sauce.
For dessert, couples will savor a selection of sweets created by newly appointed Pastry Chef Elenor Apolonio-Frantz. Highlights include Passion Fruit Petit Gateau with passion fruit crémeux, tropical chocolate cake, strawberry meringues and strawberry coulis, and the Heart of Opalys, Opalys chocolate mousse, Morello cherry compote and almond streusel, served with vanilla ice cream. While love is in the air, patrons may partake of a Flirty Fizz with house-made hibiscus syrup, lemon juice, gin, and Prosecco for $17, available in The Lafayette and Off The Record from February 14 through 16.
