Reunion Resort solves its outdoor menu challenges with cost-effective magnetic tabletop inserts.
Kevin Baker, GM at Reunion Resort, had already found success collaborating with Blue Hippo Furniture CEO/owner Brad Wriedt for effective and attractive signage used throughout the resort’s guest areas, lobby, golf facilities, and waterpark. His satisfaction with Blue Hippo’s products led Baker to explore opportunities to enhance his F&B operations marketing potential.
"At our waterpark, we literally put the menus ‘in’ the tables,” says Baker.
Blue Hippo’s patent-pending table designs feature an interchangeable magnetic insert that fits seamlessly into a shallow, steel pocket right on the tabletop.
“Having just our menus right next to the lounge chairs has already increased F&B sales”, Baker says. “This saves time for the staff servicing the pool areas and allows them to serve more guests quicker,” Baker adds. “If we have a buyout of the waterpark, we can swap out all 25 tables with a new insert of the company’s logo. Or as our programming changes or we have upcoming events, we use them to advertise. It’s not expensive; it’s about $29 a table. So for only $700, we can really make a splash.”
Baker says it’s not only practical and attractive, but also highly cost-effective. “Capital dollars are tight these days,” he notes. “Instead of buying new tables, if you can commit to buying a few magnets per year, Blue Hippo will give you the tables for free. Every hotel has marketing expenses anyway, and if we can get a few companies to buy the inserts for us, we get the tables free and can interchange our own magnets”.
Blue Hippo offers a variety of indoor and outdoor tabletops, as well as other unique signage applications. Right now, Blue Hippo is running a special for hotels. With an order of two magnet inserts for the outdoor side table, the table is free—up to 50 tables per location.
