Openings: Pod Brooklyn Highlights New Rooftop Venue
Pod Brooklyn, the newly opened micro-hotel in the heart of Williamsburg, part of the Pod portfolio, has officially opened RFTP – its new rooftop bar and venue space. “Think stunning 360° skyline views, Insta-worthy drinks, and plenty of Brooklyn vibes to help celebrate the height of summer,” the Pod announcement states. The hotel recently also opened the Clinton Hall beer garden as its main restaurant in the lobby space.
With an expansive, landscaped terrace with lounge seating and a covered bar that seats 20, RFTP aims for the after-work and weekend set.
Design points include a zinc bar and cushioned wooden “banquettes.” The standalone, sprawling secondary space provides the ability to host private events for up to 200.
RFTP’s menu includes the “Vegetable Garden,” featuring raw seasonal vegetables served on a bed of “edible soil” in the form of quinoa, with a touch of black olive and burnt leek powder (to resemble dirt) with buttermilk ranch dip. The venue’s Artichoke Dip comprises cauliflower, garlic confit, and seared fontina, with pita chips. Other items include thin-crust pizzas and a meat-and-cheese board.
Libation highlights range from grey frosé, red and white sangria, and Pacifico beer on tap to specialty cocktails like the RFTPunch (Sailor Jerry rum, citrus juices, served in a flamingo cup) and the Paloma Faith (Patron Silver, Patron Pineapple Citrónge, grapefruit, lime, Jarritos grapefruit float).
