Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Opens Regatta Food Hall
Global cuisine highlights new breakfast and lunch buffet at the resort.
Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas continues to carefully roll out its F&B program after the resort officially opened in April, 2017. The latest addition is Regatta Food Hall, located on the lower level of Baha Mar's East Tower, and open exclusively for breakfast and dinner.
According to the resort, Regatta Food Hall serves a wide assortment of American and international classics for breakfast and dinner. Featuring five distinct stations, diners can choose from baked; grilled; smoked and roasted; seared and fried; and desserts. The space is sophisticated with modern furnishings and comfortable seating. Works by local Bahamian artists adorn the walls throughout the space, and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant reflects that of the resort’s vibrant design, paying tribute to Bahamian culture.
The breakfast selection boasts five cooking sections including four made-to-order omelet and waffle stations; smoothie stands; cheese board and charcuterie; and fresh coffee and imported tea. Menu highlights include quinoa breakfast bowls, chia puddings, Bahamian delicacies such as seafood stews, silky grits and johnny cakes, plus an array of baked pastries, Danish and breads; including house-made gluten-free options, cold-pressed juices, mimosas and beer cocktails. Breakfast is served daily from 7 a.m. -11 a.m.
Featuring an extensive array of global cuisine, each food station represents the culture of destinations around the world, including Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Americas. The space features a large rotisserie oven, and the open kitchen is home to large wood-burning grills for steak, lobster tail, and smoked brisket. Highlights include carne asada grilled cheese; fish tacos; knackwurst kabobs; jerk chicken; and traditional Bahamian conch fritters with peas and rice. Regatta Food Hall’s team of pastry chefs also serve a sweet selection of desserts, including: classic Bahamian rum cake, Nutella cupcakes, crème brulee, Gateaux cake, housemade ice pops, gelato, and chocolate pots de crème. Dinner is served daily from 6 p.m – 11 p.m.
With 17 years of experience, Chef Robert Allum has created robust and flavorful menus for acclaimed restaurants and award-winning hotels around the world. He previously held positions in several five-star kitchens, including Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay and Grand Hyatt Dubai.
With 11 years of culinary expertise, Chef Shyju Babu has held positions at luxury resorts around the world including Madinat Jumeirah Hotel and Mövenpick Jumeirah Beach in Dubai. Known for creating a fusion of favors, Chef Babu integrates a vast array of authentic cultural cuisine by blending Indian, Italian and Asian flavors.
Regatta Food Hall is the newest addition to Grand Hyatt Baha Mar’s 20 internationally inspired dining outlets, including pan-Asian eateries, ornate cocktail lounges, swim-up pool bars, a French café, and pastel Airstream food trucks. Breakfast prices are $32 for adults and $10 for children ages 5-11,with optional alcohol packages available. Dinner prices are $54 for adults and $15 for children ages 5-11, with option alcohol packages available. Children ages 5 and under dine complimentary.
