Prime Punch


National Punch Day is Sunday (9/20) so here’s a tasty seasonal recipe from Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver, B.C. Punch is perfect for high-volume holiday parties, so this recipe (or your own localized version) would make a great addition to your catering menus through the New Year:

750ml Alberta Premium Rye

750ml Appleton VX Rum

1 Litre Rooibos Tea

2 Litres Pear Juice

300ml Lemon Juice

300ml Lime Juice

500ml Cinnamon and Star Anise Syrup (1:1 ratio of sugar to water; make a tea with two cinnamon sticks and 4 star anise; blend equal parts cane sugar)

15ml Angostura Bitters

Garnish with fresh pear slices and dried star anise pods

Add large ice cubes (king cubes) in a punch bowl, then ladle for service
