Specialty foods company Stonewall Kitchen
entered the hospitality market a few years ago
by introducing some of its popular products to
East Coast bed and breakfasts. “Our best-selling
item is Wild Maine Blueberry Jam, which
is available as part of our hospitality line,” says
Stonewall’s Marketing Manager Stacy Burrus.
“We have also included all of our best-selling
products from other categories: Roasted Garlic
Mustard, Balsamic Fig Dressing and Country
Ketchup, to name a few.”
Guests might enjoy these artisanal condiments
in the restaurant or breakfast buffet, with
room service, or in gift baskets. The single-serving jars can
also double as trial retail giveaways for gift shop sales.
The company observes its 20th anniversary
this year. To celebrate that milestone, certain of
its best-loved products, including Maine Maple
Champagne Mustard, Roasted Garlic Onion
Jam, and Lemon Curd have been dubbed and
labeled as Company Classics and are now
available to foodservice operators.
In 2011, visitors to the company’s
headquarters in York, Maine, will be more
impressed than usual by the gardens there,
Burrus says. “For our anniversary, we are
taking it a step further and are creating a
living art exhibit. The gardens will feature
local artists’ interpretations of our ‘From
Garden to Table’ theme.” —JM
