“Durable.” “Mobile.” “Time Saving.” These
are words Julio Rivera, banquet maître d’ at
the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort &
Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, uses
to describe Southern Aluminum Swirl Tables.
“I fell in love with the tables as soon as
I saw them,” Rivera says. “With the Swirl
tables, our whole banquet department is mobile.
Before, if a client wanted a buffet moved,
we had to take it apart. Now two people can easily move a buffet
from one location to another. The tables are unbelievably strong
and the wheels run very smoothly, even when fully loaded.”
In the hotel’s new 105,000-square-foot Cypress Ballroom—
the largest pillar-free resort ballroom in the
United States—Rivera’s staff orchestrates
functions for up to 10,000 guests. “The tables
save time and money because we don’t
use linens or clips anymore. The spandex
skirting makes the buffet look elegant and
needs little maintenance,” Rivera says. “The
product can really take some abuse. This is
my 25th year with Marriott, so I know equipment
doesn’t last long. These tables have
set a new standard. When I visit other Marriott properties that
are not using these tables, I tell them, ‘Here’s the company
