The Peabody Orlando hotel expanded
its meeting space from 56,000 to
300,000 square feet last year—and
purchased a large supply of new
equipment and furnishings as a result.
The hotel’s banquet table and
chair manufacturer of choice for the
expansion was MTS Seating.
MTS offers bi-level racks for
storage, various sizes of banquet
rounds, serpentine, and cocktail
tables, and, of course, chairs. MTS
also supplies the Peabody with the trucks for moving the
tables and chairs.
“We chose MTS because we were able to get everything
we needed through one vendor, and they have exceeded our
expectations,” says Eddie Maddox, CMP, director of catering/
convention services for the Peabody Orlando.
Maddox has been pleased with
MTS Seating’s ability to modify
various pieces, be it a change in
color or weight or the addition of
a stacking capability. “With some
pieces, we had to go through a
few different variations, and MTS
was willing to work with us until
the product fit our exact needs and
made sure our space was as functional
as possible,” he adds.
Because the Peabody required
a one-of-a-kind banquet chair, a
one-of-a-kind transport cart was necessary as well, and MTS
delivered. The employees love the efficiency, Maddox says,
and they can now move 300 chairs at a time instead of only
10. And guests enjoy the comfort of the chairs with their flexible
backings and wider legs. —MP
