For the staff at the Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach
Walk in Honolulu, Hawaii, the idea of choosing only one
China pattern to suit a variety of uses was very appealing.
So for the hotel’s opening, the team chose Rosenthal China
because it was versatile enough for use in all of the hotel’s
restaurants, says Director of Operations Scott Dirks.
Trump uses Rosenthal throughout the hotel, including
at the Wai’olu Ocean View Lounge and the poolside bar, as
well as for in-room dining. Dirks says their choice is from
the Trend collection, which includes Loft, a simple, stylish
porcelain dinnerware collection suitable for both formal
and casual dining, and New Trend, which is modern and
functional.
“We looked at several China brands, and we like Rosenthal’s
elegant and contemporary but not too trendy design,”
says Dirks, “and it looks good on our tables.”
Many Trump properties already have or are planning to
incorporate Rosenthal China in their dining establishments.
The Trump Waikiki also uses Twist Flatware from Rosenthal’s
parent company, Sambonet. The stainless steel Twist
line from Italy features a contemporary pattern with a gently
twisting handle design accent. —MP
