When purchasing banquet chairs in quantities of
thousands for a luxury property, it’s important to
choose a company that offers not only great products,
but also great service. Harvey Stern, director
of banquets and catering at the Bellagio Las Vegas,
recently worked with Temperance, Michigan-based
MTS Seating for an order of 5,000 chairs and was
very satisfied with the experience.
“We found the chair we liked, then we needed
to customize it,” he explains. The product already
had the comfort, flexible back, and height profile
Stern and his team were looking for, but they spent
months working with MTS on other details. “We
curved the back a little bit more. We put in a handle
concept that was part décor, part function,” he
says. Throughout the process, Stern appreciated
the attitudes of the MTS reps. “They were very
forthcoming to explain why something might not
work or how they could make it work by retooling a
concept.”
The hotel, known for its impeccable attention to
detail, calls the finished product the “Pearl Chair,”
and it’s now one of two options the massive
casino hotel can offer clients. “People
just love them,” Stern says. “Whether
you’re using it for a classroom setting or
a theater, the chair blends in.” But most
of all, Stern adds, he appreciates the
service he received throughout the design
process. “The follow-through and
commitment [of the MTS team] were
