no small matter. And
year after year, Henry
Michaud, VP of F&B at
the Columbia Sussex
Corporation, has found
himself renewing his
contract with S&D
Coffee. “It’s a quality
product that they’re able to deliver at a good price,” he explains. “It’s very
consistent; we’ve never had a complaint.”
Columbia Sussex operates over 70 hotels in the U.S. and the Caribbean, and
they use S&D products in the dining, catering, and room service operations
of almost every one. With such a large network, another important factor Michaud
considers is ease of distribution. “It’s kind of a one-stop shop,” Michaud
explains. “All of our regional staff and our operational staff have one central
person to go to.”
S&D’s relationship with Columbia Sussex doesn’t end with great products
and service—they’re also a corporate client. “S&D supports us by hosting
functions and meetings at our hotels,” Michaud says. “Our hotel in downtown
Chicago is the host for S&D during the annual National Restaurant Association
Show.” Overall, Michaud says, “S&D has exceeded our expectations.” —JM
