At the Doubletree Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center in
Roanoke, Virginia, Executive Chef Billie Raper adds elegance to
events with contemporary food presentation
pieces from Isinglass.
“We really like the variety and unique
designs Isinglass offers,” Raper says.
“We can use them in several different
venues, and they always provide a ‘wow’
factor for guests.”
The Wind through the Window vertical
glass accent display and the Cross
Winds display (shown at right) with a
crisscross glass shelf pattern are “showstopping
pieces for individual salads and
desserts,” says Raper.
Isinglass, named for a crystal-clear
lake in Canada, has been producing
textured, hand-cut foodservice presentation pieces and buffet
needs for the hospitality industry since 2004.
Hotel Roanoke has featured the display pieces and large
glass ice containers for drinks at receptions,
buffets, and brunches throughout the past
year, and the staff have received nothing
but compliments. “Guests have been impressed
by the clean look and artistic flair
the pieces provide,” Raper says. “They feel
this type of display is an upgrade to our
service, and we have gotten rave reviews.”
Raper adds that the hotel is planning
to purchase more Isinglass products
in the near future to create even more
inventive food and beverage displays for
guests. —MP
