At the Westin Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, Florida, Chef
David Hackett serves Bush’s Best Baked Beans as an all-time
favorite alongside traditional BBQ items, including ribs, chicken,
hot dogs, hamburgers, and corn on the cob. In fact, Bush’s
Best Baked Beans are a standard at Starwood hotels.
“Baked beans are a good old-fashioned staple,” he says.
“They are usually on the menus for our summertime events–
banquets, tailgate parties, beach BBQs, and all-American picnics,
as well as our Fourth of July menu.”
To spice things up, Hackett uses Bush’s beans in a Westin
Diplomat specialty, a tapas-style pork dish with a puréed watermelon,
cole slaw, and baked bean sauce.
Chefs can now take advantage of Bush’s quasi-dating
service website, www.grilledandlonely.com, where they can
search for recipes that incorporate Bush Beans into sophisticated
main courses under such tongue-in-cheek
topics as “Find Your Sidemate” and
“Sizzling Speed Dating.”
Many of the recipes offer
a creative twist, including
Baked Beans with Pork and
Amber Ale, Baked Bean
Quesadillas, and Chicken and
Honey Chipotle Baked Beans.
Bush’s Best Baked Beans
are now available for foodservice
in three flavors: Bean
Pot (original), Vegetarian, and
Boston Recipe. —CB
