In-Room Coffee Systems » Warm Reception
At ski resorts and lodges, hot drinks are a hot commodity. Sugar Bowl Resort in Lake Tahoe, California, relies on
Green Mountain Coffee to provide the cold weather pick-me-up guests rely on when returning from the slopes. “We see our guests literally coming in from the cold, in need of something to warm themselves after a day spent at play on the hill,” says John Monson, Sugar Bowl’s director of sales and marketing.
Though options abound in the hot beverage industry, Sugar Bowl chooses Green Mountain Coffee in conjunction with Keurig single-cup brewers so guests can easily brew their own coffee in each of the lodge’s 27 rooms.
Sugar Bowl has gone a step further by adding a B200 at the top of the ski lift, Monson says, referring to a vending compatible, commercial-grade Keurig brewer model. “That was an excellent customer service move,” he adds.
Monson cites great service and high-quality products as reasons the lodge chooses Green Mountain Coffee. But most importantly, he says, guests like it. “We get high reviews from guests for the quality of our food and beverages,” says Monson. That’s enough to warm any F&B director’s heart. –JM
