As VP of F&B at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods, Dennis Khanh doesn’t have time to waste when it comes to keeping the properties’ six fine-dining restaurants stocked with china and flatware, so he relies on
Corby Hall.
Khanh has been so pleased with the quality and service he has received from Corby Hall that he has maintained a relationship with them for the past 10 years. “I’ve been here at Foxwoods for nearly two years. Prior to that, I worked with Corby Hall for eight years at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas,” he says.
Corby Hall’s excellent customer service is a primary reason Khanh cites for his decade of loyalty. “They are always holding inventory for us, so any time we need something, they have a month’s supply ready.” This practice has prevented at least one disaster for Khanh. “At Mandalay Bay, there was an incident where we were opening a new restaurant and our entire flatware supply for a 120-seat restaurant disappeared overnight,” he says. “Corby Hall was able to replace everything for us within three days, so we were able to open on time.”
Khanh also appreciates that Corby Hall is a family-run business. “You always get access to the ownership; I can reach them almost 24 hours a day,” he says. “For us, with the volume we do, that’s extremely important.” –JM
