Hobart High-Volume Hotel Kitchen Equipment If you polled pastry chefs and bakers about which piece of kitchen equipment they won’t live without, you’ll hear the name Hobart. In 1990, the company held a contest for the “Oldest Running Hobart Mixer” and received more than 6,000 responses. The winner: a 1919 C-210 mixer in Arkansas.

Skip Cerf, director of F&B for the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington D.C., may not have a 1919 model, but his kitchens employ Hobart mixers. Cerf is responsible for all foodservice operations at the 1,316 room luxury property, including Harry’s Pub, the newly renovated lobby bar, Stone’s Throw Restaurant and Bar, and the dramatic 30,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom.

“We have an open pastry finishing kitchen in the restaurant,” Cerf says, “which pushes our chef to produce world class selections. Hobart’s premium pastry equipment is front and center in the pastry production chain.”

Additionally, Cerf praises the responsiveness and professionalism of Hobart’s service staff and their fast, reliable commercial kitchen service for his hotel. “They are an excellent company to work with, very dependable, and they stand behind their equipment.”

Hobart’s product line goes far beyond mixers, with a full line of equipment for hotel foodservice, including ovens, ranges, food processors, slicers, mixers, warewashers, and Traulsen banquet carts and refrigeration.—KB
