Prepared Vegetable Side Dishes » Getting the Most out of Roast

Simplot Prepared Vegetable Side Dishes RoastWorks™ (a brand of the J.R. Simplot Company) “has been busy developing the most exciting, groundbreaking line of prepared roasted frozen sides to date,” says Director of Marketing Tom Clark. Such innovative ready made side dishes include the Orzo Toscano, a savory blend of orzo pasta, wild rice, flame-roasted onions, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, and wild mushroom seasoning; as well as the Roasted Apple Orzo, a blend of orzo pasta, flame-roasted Fuji apples, dried cranberries, and Chai seasoning.

“Colorful ingredients,” adds Clark, “with contrasting textures create elegant and eye-catching plate presentations. But aside from attracting your eyes, all you have to do is smell these premium prepared side dishes, and you’ll have to taste them.”

The Flame Roasted Piquillo Peppers are also new in the RoastWorks line. “These are uniquely sweet though mild peppers that are handpicked and slow-roasted, then carefully peeled and seeded for authentic appeal,” explains Clark. “To meet the growing trend towards international foods, RoastWorks is developing new fast prep banquet and restaurant side dishes that are unique but not so different that they will be too strange or unrecognizable to consumers.”

Clark also notes that consumers are continuing to recognize that roasted products are fresher, healthier, and “better tasting.”

“With RoastWorks, hotels win, consumers win – everybody wins.”

Simplot RoastWorks® flame-roasted fruits & vegetables offer healthy, flavorful side dishes for your hotel menu, giving your guests the robust flavor they want with the easy prep and high margins you require for room service, restaurant, and banquet side dishes.-–ABA
