"April showers bring May flowers," and the outlook is certainly rosy for Maywood Furniture
Corp. for the springtime and next several seasons.
According to Ken Persson, VP, sales & marketing, Maywood Furniture Corp. is in "an excellent
position for the future as a result of an improved economy and hotel budgets opening up."
Because Maywood's serpentine or crescent table with the riser on top does double duty as a
buffet station or portable bar, it's tops with hotels, Persson explains. Maywood's 54-inch-
and 60-inch-squares, as well as its new line of resin folding and resin chiavari chairs also
are attracting attention.
"Meeting planners and special event coordinators like the square tables because they fit more
people, yet take up the same space as rounds, Persson says.
The Original Series by Maywood Furniture of Maywood, New Jersey, formerly known as the Howe 200
Series, remains steadfastly-popular because it offers features unavailable elsewhere, such as
the "Mayfoam Top."
"Upscale hotels want our padded top because it deadens noise," Persson says. "They also like
plywood construction and how it holds linens."
"Maywood was the original manufacturer of the Howe 200 Series for over 70 years," Persson explains.
"If hotels want to match their existing inventory, Maywood can fill the void. They are happy to
find out about us."
