With a name like China Grill, the commercial dinnerware guests eat on is as telling as what they eat.
According to Claude Roussel, director of operations, China Grill Management in New York City, Fortessa commercial tableware is used exclusively when they open new restaurants, which is projected to total five in 2006.
Fortessa's stylish dinnerware patterns, non-break stemware and metal table accessories also grace the tables of the 20 China Grills already thriving in the United States, Mexico and London, Roussel says.
"Fortessa is good quality and competitively-priced," Roussel says. "They are innovative with what they've done in china."
Roussel says their chefs particularly like Fortessa's large portion plates and platters because they work well for the "sharing concept" that is a China Grill trademark.
Jim Barnard, hotel & restaurant GM, Atherton Hotel at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, says relationships with their purveyors are as important as the products themselves. They've used Fortessa hotel dinnerware, stemware and glassware for about three years.
"It's the best product for the best price and an outstanding company," Barnard says.
One of the primary reasons Barnard says they selected Fortessa was the ability to create a custom dinnerware design using stock patterns.
"Using existing rims and borders, we custom designed the dinnerware by modifying the interior of the plate with our logo on it," Barnard says.
He also applauds Fortessa for its delivery. "Fill-ins are very easy. If needed, we can get overnight delivery," Barnard says.
