Since 1921, the Vita-Mix® Corporation has been an
innovator in blender technology. Vita-Mix's commercial
food preparation blender, the Vita-Prep®, has
been endorsed by some of the top chefs nationwide such
as the late Jean-Louis Palladin and Todd English, made
famous by the memorable advertising campaign, Naked
Chefs with their Blender.
Specifically, the Vita-Prep® 3 is designed for tough,
high-volume, versatile applications. "It can grind a traditional
mix salsa to something very fine and dense,"
according to Vita-Mix spokesperson Tom Poje. "It also
makes purčes, grinds whole spices, meat and grains, and
chops vegetables."
Poje notes that Vita-Mix offers a variety of different
blending products, such as the Blending Station with 34
different programming possibilities that allows presetting
of different recipes. Additionally, the BarBoss® professional
bartender's blender "is carried by probably nine out of
the top ten major restaurant chains," according to Poje.
He adds, "we're definitely not the cheapest but we offer
value in the long term. We've seen some residential units
operating after 40 years. Some of our commercial units are
five, six, seven years old and still running strong."-JMW
