Unveiling a new lobby coffee bar and kiosk, at virtually the same time the Crowne Plaza Hotel West Palm Beach, Florida reopened after a 15-month hurricane damage-induced closure, was made possible largely due to the support of S&D Coffee.

General Manager Margaret Leon says S&D Coffee, national distributor of Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Company branded coffees served at the Beanery, made this new venture easy.

“They came in, set it up, and educated everyone on coffee,” Leon says.

As part of Lodgian, Inc., Crowne Plaza West Palm Beach has been a long-time S&D Coffee customer, serving S&D Coffee in all f&b outlets, including meetings and banquets.

Open only since mid-February 2006, the Beanery has been extremely well-received, Leon says. In addition to guests staying on property or attending meetings and social events, the coffee bar has been discovered by tenants of an adjacent office complex and travelers using close-by Palm Beach International Airport.

“We've just begun to tap the potential of those who want to enjoy an upscale coffee in the morning or grab a nice cup of coffee anytime during the day,” Leon says.

Open daily, the Beanery’s biggest seller to date is ThunderBoltTM Dark Roast, an ongoing reminder that the coffee bar is one of the silver linings in the dark cloud of all those months the hotel stood dark.—SBH
