When Connie Walker did a comparison taste test between Bahama Blast Real Fruit Smoothie Concentrates, Coffee Concentrates, and Drink Mixes and the products she was using, a three-year search for a replacement was over.
"At the Biltmore, our goal is to serve the highest-quality products available," says Walker, F&B outlets manager, Biltmore Estate, Asheville, North Carolina, adding ease of use is an important factor.
Walker uses Bahama Blast in both
nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
The most popular (nonalcoholic) is the
'Strawberry Smoothie,' selling for $3.25
in their Ice Cream Parlor and available on a portable conservatory
cart that goes
where needed on the
property.
At weddings
and summer outdoor
functions, alcoholic
Strawberry Daiquiris
and Margaritas are
strong sellers.
Produced by Rich
Products Corporation, Bahama Blast's
formula results in slower separation and
meltdown. That, combined with a high
level of fruit puree makes the end product
thicker and richer in color and more
appealing,' Walker says.
Since Rich's is so accommodating,
Walker hopes it's only a matter of time
before they develop recipes for hot beverages,
which she'll immediately add to
their offerings. -SBH
