While your competitors are trotting out tepid Halloween promotions, consider adding some spice to entice guests and locals this year. Celebrated throughout Mexico and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places, especially the United States, the Day of the Dead actually is a multi-day holiday involving gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.
Here’s a good example of a promo menu for inspiration: The Round Robin Bar at the Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C. will celebrate the Day of the Dead from October 24 through November 2 by offering authentic Mexican bites, unique cocktails from Espolon Tequila and Modelo Especial, and complimentary sugar skull face painting on Monday, October 31, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bar patrons sporting sugar skull face paint will receive one specialty cocktail on the house.
