When we visited the AccuBar booth, we learned about a still under-wraps product known only as “the total AccuBar solution.” We’ve been sworn to secrecy about it, but we can tell you the core AccuBar software for PDAs is still riding high. Users can record their alcohol inventories with the touch of a button, saving hours—in some cases, days—of labor. “It integrates with your POS during inventory too,” says AccuBar’s Dave Grimm. So what about those hotels that are still using paper and pencil instead of AccuBar? “We call that the hammer and chisel method,” Grimm says.

2. NATURA WATER
An eco-friendly solution to bottled water.

As hotels become greener, how to serve water to guests becomes a bigger issue. At the Natura Water booth, a few solutions were on display—Natura’s 25- and 80-liter purification systems. Both of them filter, sterilize, chill, and can carbonate water from a hotel’s existing tap lines. “With hotels, the need for lots of reusable containers becomes a concern, so we can provide glass bottles, but we’re also developing stainless sports bottles with our name on them too,” says Natura’s Suzanne Kawahara, adding that a residential purification system is also being developed this year.

Whether it’s the front or the back of the house, Shoes For Crews makes it easier for employees to buy the footwear they need. “If their company has a corporate account with us, they’ll get up to 20 percent off of our retail price,” says Alan Cohan, director of casino/hotel sales at Shoes For Crews. New Bar Buddy is a space-saving friend.

Large F&B footprints are becoming a thing of the past, and Sunkist wants to help make the transition easier with its Bar Buddy Sectionizer. “It has a smaller footprint for those lacking space in their prep areas. It’s also a storage container with a lid, so staff can cut their fruits and vegetables and put them in the refrigerator for later use,” says Lynn Setlich, sales and marketing manager at Sunkist Foodservice Equipment. The Bar Buddy measures approximately nine by nine by seven inches and comes with eight different blade cups to produce any kind of cut.
