Middleby Marshall Oven chosen as 2009 Product of the Year Middleby Marshall: The gas industry experts of the Gas Food Equipment Network (GFEN) have chosen the Middleby Marshall WOW! Oven as the sole recipient of the 2009 Product of the Year. The award is given to the product deemed most technologically advanced in energy saving technology. Kraft Foodservice culinary scholarship Kraft Foodservice: Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) student Kamal Rose was awarded a $20,000 culinary scholarship by Kraft Foodservice for winning the 2009 Chefs of Grey Poupon Student Culinary Competition, held on May 6, 2009, in Chicago. Now in its fourth year, the Chefs of Grey Poupon program was developed to celebrate the accomplishments of chefs who embody the spirit of culinary creativity and to spread the inspiration of Grey Poupon mustard. Service Ideas 2009 International Plastics Design Competition Judges Award Service Ideas: has been awarded the 2009 International Plastics Design Competition Judges Award. The Service Ideas Hot Solutions Food Service Tray was developed to address the challenges of serving a meal requiring that a hot cast iron skillet be placed on a table in front of guests. In a fajita presentation, for example, the heat in the cast iron must be high enough to support the sizzle for several seconds while the food travels from the kitchen to the table.
