Exhibitors at the 2008World Tea Expo, to be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, May 30–June 1, are expected to host 33 percent more attendees than in previous shows. The American Culinary Federation (ACF) awarded the title of 2007 ACF National Pastry Chef to Patricia Nash, pastry chef at Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York. Dean M. Landeche joined the Manitowoc Foodservice Group as VP of marketing. He is responsible for all marketing functions, including product management and marketing communications. Landeche brings nearly 20 years of foodservice experience, most recently with Enodis USA, where he held the position of VP of marketing, focusing on multi-brand marketing strategies and new product development for eight operating companies and six international regions. John Trotter has also joined the company as VP of sales-Americas. Viking Range Corporation, the originator of commercial-type cooking products for the home, is entering the commercial cooking equipment arena. The Viking Commercial Products Division, headquartered in southern California, has been formed, and Daniel Garvin was appointed VPViking Commercial Products. Garvin is a 25-year foodservice equipment industry veteran, formerly the VP and director of sales and marketing at the Montague Company before joining Viking. He is responsible for steering the Viking commercial product line from concept to production, as well as developing plans for the sales and marketing of this new line. Eric Deng, director of engineering– Viking Commercial Products, comes to Viking with 13 years of experience in the appliance industry. He was formerly director of engineering at Jade Range as well as VP of engineering at DCS. The Viking Commercial product line will consist of ranges of all styles, ovens, broilers, griddles, salamanders, cheesemelters, induction units, and island suites, as well as undercounter refrigeration.
