Fairmont Chateau Whistler Fundraiser Brings Collaboration of Three Female Chefs
Fairmont Chateau Whistler announced a collaborative culinary dinner with three of Canada’s top female chefs lending their time and talent for a cause. The chefs include Nicole Gomes, recent Top Chef Canada All-star winner and owner of Cluck N Cleaver; Melissa Craig, executive chef at Bearfoot Bistro; and Isabel Chung, executive chef at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The event, named ‘ELLEvate TogetHER’, takes place on Sunday, November 12.
“The purpose of this dinner is two-fold,” states Chef Chung. “First and foremost, to raise money for cancer research, a cause that is deeply personal to Nicole, Melissa, and me. And while doing so, highlight other women in the industry, particularly our up-and-coming female apprentices.”
The female leadership doesn’t end in the kitchen. Nikki Callaway, acclaimed winemaker at Quails’ Gate, will not only provide her wine for the event but also insight into her role in the industry. The wine program for the evening will be executed by two of British Columbia’s top sommeliers: Maryke Vandermarel from Bearfoot Bistro and Jill Spoor from Fairmont Pacific Rim.
