Portola Hotel Lobby Restaurant Earns Wine Spectator's Top Honor
Jacks Monterey, new lobby restaurant located within the Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey, California, has been awarded the Wine Spectator 2017 Award of Excellence for its wine program.
Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine, and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
The Award of Excellence is Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards’ top honor, in which a restaurant offers at least 90 selections and features a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
The wine selection at Jacks Monterey includes a selection of wines with 30% being local, Monterey County Wines, including top-tier wines such as Hahn Chardonnay and Boegenoogen Pinot Noir, all served by the glass. Jacks Monterey offers wine on draft from 10SPAN Vineyards, including their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Portola Hotel & Spa opened its new restaurant and lobby bar, Jacks Monterey earlier this year, at the culmination of its $6-million-dollar lobby renovation.
