Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Earns Wine Spectator's 'Award of Excellence'
Sheraton Grand Los Cabos, Hacienda del Mar flagship restaurant De Cortez Restaurant has been honored for the first time with Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” for 2017.
The award "reiterates the values of Sheraton Grand Los Cabos, Hacienda del Mar and all of its restaurants led by renowned Chef Manuel De Luca," states an announcement by the hotel. De Cortez Restaurant joins sister restaurant, Pitahayas, a 2016 “Award of Excellence” winner in this category.
Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Award recipients hail from 75 countries internationally, and are lauded for their outstanding dedication to purveying wine.
The Award of Excellence was awarded to 2,335 restaurants in 2017. Judging criteria includes wine lists that “typically offer at least 90 selections, feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.” De Cortez Restaurant is one of 457 restaurants to attain this distinction for the first time in 2017.
“We are elated that De Cortez has been recognized globally by the wine industry,” said Renato Mendonca, GM of Sheraton Hacienda del Mar. “This award is a reflection of our extensive international wine selection paired with our menu’s creative fusions and our dedication to offering guests and the Los Cabos community with the highest caliber of a culinary experience.”
De Cortez Grill and Restaurant has previously been awarded the Grand Luxury Award (GLA) by the Association of International Hospitality and is a two-time winner of the esteemed Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
